THE FOUNDER
CALL

Priya uses AI every day. When it gave her the safest answer on a major contract, she still had to decide what risk was worth taking.

Priya runs a small design studio. Most mornings, she starts with AI open beside her calendar and spreadsheet. It turns meeting notes into a clean brief, flags a cost she missed, and helps her turn a crowded day into a list she can actually move through. It makes the small decisions lighter.

On a Monday before nine, a contract landed that could change the year. The work was right for her team. The client was serious. But the project required a vendor deposit before two of her largest invoices were due. One delayed payment could put payroll under pressure.

Priya asked AI to model the options. It built the cash-flow scenarios in seconds. Its recommendation was careful and reasonable: protect the reserve, delay the work, choose the path with the least exposure. She read the answer twice because part of her wanted the relief of handing the decision over.

But a recommendation is not the same thing as a decision. The model did not know her team had capacity they had been waiting to use. It did not know the client was a former collaborator who might agree to a different structure. It did not know what it would mean to walk away from work that was exactly why she started the studio.

The hard part was the unknown. If she asked for better terms, the client might leave. If she signed as written, the pressure would become hers to carry. There was no version of the spreadsheet that could make that feeling disappear.

So Priya called the client. Then she called her team. She came back with a smaller first phase, a staged payment schedule, and room to protect payroll. The tool had made the options clear. Priya had to put her name on the one she chose.

"AI made the options clearer.
It did not make the choice mine."

That is what Animal Instinct means here. Not pretending the risk is not real. Not confusing a feeling with a plan. It is taking in everything you can know, then accepting that the final call has to come from a human being willing to own what happens next.

Use the tool. Own the call.
